Parents as Partners in Learning Award

This category recognises the important  role that parents play in the education sector, in schools and nurseries, in their local area, nationally  or in individual children’s learning.  

Parents can make a difference for children and this award aims to recognise the contribution that they are making to the education sector. This could be:

  • Parent Council working in partnership with its own school to support an area of improvement or success for parents and/or children

  • Parent Councils doing something successful or innovative in their own school or in their own community

  • A group of parents/Parent Councils getting together to bring about an improvement for children in their area

  • A partner/third sector organisations supporting parents to help bring about improvements for children

  • An individual who has made a significant contribution to parental involvement their own school, locally or nationally

If you can respond positively and in some detail to the following questions, we would welcome your nomination.

  • Do you know of a Parent Council, parent or organisation working with parents who deserves recognition for the way that they have promoted Parents as Partners?

  • What is the name of the Parent Council/parent or organisation that you are nominating? 

  • Describe the activity or practice that they have been involved in. 

  • How have they contributed to success or improvement for families,  parents or  children?

  • How have they championed parental involvement and what impact has this had?
